Rosemary Infused Olive Oil

I love rosemary.  I love the smell, and the taste of it in pasta and on pizza.  This year, I grew some out by my garden, and when it got too cold outside, I brought the pot in and set it on my counter...
I am not sure how much longer it will last, so to prolong the yummy taste, I decided I wanted to make olive oil infused with rosemary.  I like to cook with it, or even eat it with a nice loaf of artisan bread.
I also thought it would make a delightful gift for a couple of my friends.
I got these bottles at the local home goods store.  Pretty green glass, though hard to photograph:)
I cut off a few rosemary stems, rinsed and dried them thoroughly, and then put them in the clean bottle.
I warmed up some extra virgin olive oil for about a minute in a pot on the stove, and then poured the warm oil into the glass jar.  The idea is that the warm oil will help to release some of the rosemary flavor.
They end up looking very pretty and fancy, and they smell and taste delicious!
To give them to my friends, I tied a few ribbons around the top, and made a tag, telling what it is.
Kindof a fun, non-traditional neighbor or friend gift:)
